Sri Adhi Narayana Perumal Temple, Pulicat / Pazhaverkadu, Thiruvallur District, Tamil Nadu.

…a continuation post of Pulicat Heritage Visit.
25th February 2017.
During my previous visit I could not enter from east side due to heavy grown the vegetation. I had seen only the top of the vimanam from a long distance. This time we are lucky to see the temple. The temple is under the control of Tamil Nadu Tourism department. The renovation of the main sanctum was abandoned. The main sanctum was built with Laterite stone from the base including koshtam. It was told that a court case is pending in Madras High court in connection with the procedure to be adopted in renovation of the temple.

The main sanctum front mandapam has  mandapam, total Ramayan epic was chiseled on the lintel beam of the  ceiling. It was sad to see a lintel was used as a roof slab and also we had seen a Telugu inscription. The Garudalwar sannadhi and balipeedam are looks in very bad state.

The Thayar Sannidhi is in dilapidated condition due to age and vegetation grown. The roots of the trees runs from the roof to the ground which had damaged the structure extensively. It was told that the temple might belongs to Vijayanagara / Nayaka's period. The Thayar sannidhi was constructed with stone and the pillars has different reliefs. It is very sad to see the condition of the temple, in a crumbling state.

Sri Anandavalli Samedha Sri Sivanandheeswarar Temple, Thirukkallil / Thirukandalam, Thiruvallur District, Tamil Nadu.

…a continuation post ( Thamaraipakkam check dam )
25th February 2017.
After Thamaraipakkam anaicut visit we headed towards Thirukandalam, the 18th Padal petra sthalam of Thondai Nadu, since the archakar was waiting for us.

This is the second visit to this temple Sri Sivanandheeswarar Temple at Thirukallil ( Present name is Thirukandalam )  as a part of Paadal Petra Sthalangal visit. This time we looked in to heritage perspective. Tried to study the inscription at the base of the sanctum. We are able to trace the word Vikrama Chozha  from the painted inscription under Dakshinamurthy in koshtam. Also we had noticed a Brick vimanam thangi on the Rajagopuram, which looks different with hat. There is a separate sannadhi for Dakshinamurthy and his consort is sitting on his lap similar to Surutapalli.

I personally felt very sad after hearing the news of the demise of the old Sivachariyar, who had done pooja during my earlier visit. He also offered me coffee after the dharshan.
