All the Shikharas are richly ornamented and vividly polychromed; but at the eye level, the outer walls of the shrine are blank; nothing to engage the devoted with mini shrines or sculptures of the deity's other forms. Where did we lose that ?
பதிலளிநீக்குYes Sir, can you please elaborate, what exactly did you mean...
நீக்குUnderstand that, due to cost cutting, the stucco images in the Tala koshtas are not added now and it will be added in the next renovation
நீக்குI am missing the Ashta Dikpalas and in between sculptures of puranic incidents. All these smaller temples seem to have dispensed with all that and have only small niches with icons in only cardinal directions. Rest of the wall is a plain grey box. All the drama is at the upper level only.
பதிலளிநீக்குYou are correct, most of the recent constructed and renovated temples, the ashtadik plakas are not installed in the greevam and Talas. The Tala niches / koshtas the images are not installed due to shortage of fund.
