NADAI VAAVI – AYYANGARKULAM, NEAR KANCHIPURAM.
This structure was built during Vijayanagara
period. This has an entrance arch with steps to mandapam below the ground
level. There is an arrangement to drain out the rain water accumulated
from the underground floor. The mandapa Pillars has beautiful reliefs.
Sri Varadaraja Swamy is fond of travelling
in and around Kanchipuram to bless his devotees. Every year during Chitra
pournami day ( Full moon day ) Perumal used to visit here. The urchavar will be
kept in the under ground mandapam for about 5 minutes for pooja. After this Sri
Varadaraja Swamy will return back to Kanchipuram.
