It
was planned to visit 4 Shiva Temples and
an Amman temple of Thaiyur, near Kelambakkam
on 21st July 2021, of which Azhakeeswarar temple was closed during my
Visit. This place was called as “Thaikaja Muruganur” ( Thaikajam – means Sand
stone in Sanskrit ), since Lord Muruga
was made of Sand Stone at Sri Murugeeswarar Temple, which has got corrupted to
the present name of Thaiyur. This temple
is on the Thaiyur lake bund close to Sri Jalakandeswarar Temple.
Moolavar

The
Moolavar Sri Parasathamman is inside a Temporary shed. There are 7 Murugan like

Chakra, Mazhu, Bow, Arrow, Snake, Sword, bent Knife, Conch, Asura’s head, Bowl
and a Shield. Mahisasuramardini is looking ferocious, with protruding teeth and
tongue. Wears a Jwala maguda and Snake kundalas are on the ears. Mahisasura is
