Sri Kothanda Ramar Temple / ஸ்ரீ கோதண்ட ராமர் கோயில், தொழுப்பேடு / Thozhupedu, Thiruvannamalai District, Tamil Nadu.

நன்மையும் செல்வமும் நாளும் நல்குமேதிண்மையும் பாவமும் சிதைந்து தேயுமே
ஜன்மமும் மரணமும் இன்றித் தீருமே இம்மையுமே ராம என்ற இரண்டு எழுத்தினால்

The visit to this Kothanda Ramar Temple at Thozhupedu was part of a Heritage Visit to the Temples, Thavvai, Kotravai, Durgai, and Hero Stone sculptures around Cheyyar in Tiruvannamalai District on 22nd August 2021. This temple maybe 200 to 300 years old with some unique features. Thanks to Logesh for his guidance. Thanks, to Babu Mano and Manoj, for taking me to this place.

Some of the salient features of this temple are….
The temple faces east with a Garudathoon / Deepasthambham and an entrance arch. Thiruman with Sangu / conch and Chakra are on the top of the entrance. Balipeedam is after the entrance. Chakkarathalwar with Yoga Narasimha and Hanuman sannidhis are after the balipeedam. Vinayagar and Adikesava Perumal with Sridevi and Bhoodevi are on both sides of the sanctum sanctorum.

The sanctum sanctorum was built with bricks be during recent years. The mandapam joins with the Hanuman sannidhi and Main Sannidhi was built with a tiled roof.

LEGENDS
It is believed that worshiping Kothanda Ramar and Sita with 3 lemons on 7 Saturdays will bring happiness in life, excel in all arts, and studies, get rid of evil eyes, relieve Chronic diseases, remove the obstacles in marriage, Child boon, get victory over the court cases, will remove all doshas, will increase wealth, will reduce tension and stress, will reduce anger, to get rid of unethical relationship, difference of opinions with partners, will reduce negative thoughts and finally Lord Rama will speak to you.

POOJAS AND CELEBRATIONS
Apart from regular poojas special poojas will be conducted on Krishna Jayanthi, Rama Navami, Vaikunta Ekadasi, Saturdays, New Year days, and on all important days..

TEMPLE TIMINGS
The temple will be kept open between 07.00 hrs to 10.00 hrs and 17.00 hrs to 19.00 hrs.

HOW TO REACH
The temple is 13 KM from Cheyyar, 44 KM from Kanchipuram, 72 KM from Chengalpattu, 77 KM from Arakkonam 77 KM from Thiruvannamalai ( District Headquarters), and 119 KM from Chennai.
Nearest Railway station is Kanchipuram and Junction Arakkonam or Chengalpattu.
