The
Visit to this Sri Natanapureeswarar Shiva Temple, in between Nemam and
Kuthambakkam was a part of the Shiva, Maha Vishnu, and Amman Temples visit, near
Poonamallee & Aranvoyal in Thiruvallur District/Tiruvallur District on 05th
December 2021. Initially, it was planned to visit the Shiva temples of Nemam and
Kuthambakkam, the other temples were added as an extension to the above temples
and recommended by devotees of the temples and Sivachariyars. From Nemam to Kuthambakkam happened to see
this temple in the midst of the field.

The
temple faces east under an asbestos sheet mandapam. Moolavar Shiva Linga is on a square avudayar. Balipeedam and Rishabam are in the mandapam.
The metal Natarajar and Sivakami are in the mandapam.
HISTORY AND
INSCRIPTIONS
This
Shiva Linga and Rishabam are unearthed while plowing the field. As per the
iconography of Rishabam, this may belong to the Chozha period ie the 12th
to 13th Century.
Since
moolavar is on a square avudayar, it is believed that this Shiva Linga might
have been installed and worshiped by siddhars / Maharishis.

Apart
from oru kala pooja special poojas are conducted on pradosam and Maha Shivaratri
days.

Since
oru kala pooja is conducted, the opening and closing times are unpredictable.
HOW TO REACH
The
temple is about 3 KM off from Poonamallee to Thiruvallur Main Road, 1 KM from
Nemam Avundeeswarar Shiva Temple, 11 KM from Thiruninravur, 12 KM from
Poonamallee, 16 KM from Thiruvallur, 26 KM from Koyambedu and 32 KM from
Chennai Central.
The nearest
Railway station is Thiruninravur and the bigger station is Thiruvallur.
