The Visit to this Arulmigu Sri Rama Anjaneyar
Temple at Tambaram Sanatorium was a part of “Shiva and Rama Anjaneyar Temple’s
Visit” on 21st January 2024. This
Arulmigu Sri Rama Anjaneyar Temple and Sri Vaidyanatha Swamy Temple on GST
Road, Tambaram sanatorium area are relocated to this place, to give way for
the GST Road widening.

Some of the salient features of this temple are….
The temple is facing east with a 5 tier
Rajagopuram. Maha Vishnu’s various avatars are on both sides of the
Rajagopuram. Balipeedam and Garudan are after the Rajagopuram. Stucco
Dwarapalakas are at the entrance of the sanctum sanctorum. Moolavar Ramar is with
Sita and Lakshmana.
Anjaneyar is in a separate sannidhi facing north.
Anjaneyar is in a standing posture with Anjali hastam. The Coconut tying as
Prarthana place is on the opposite side of the Anjaneyar Sannidhi.
In Praharam Sri Maha Lakshmi, Chakkarathalwar &
Yoga Narasimhar and Andal.
ARCHITECTURE
The whole temple was built with bricks and cement
concrete. The temple consists of the sanctum
Sanctorum and Ardha mandapam. The sanctum sanctorum is on an upanam, Jagathy,
threepatta kumudam, and pattika. The Bhitti starts with vedika. Brahmakantha
pilasters are with kalasam, kudam, palakai and vettu pothyal. The prastaram
consists of valapi and kapotam with nasi kudus. The 1st tala is
above the prastaram. The greevam is in Nagara style. Stucco images of Maha
Vishnu’s various avatars are on the Vimana tala and greeva koshtas.
HISTORY AND INSCRIPTIONS
It was said that a Shiva Lingam, Sri Vaitheeswaran, and Anjaneyar have existed about 50 meters from this place. Due to the widening of the road, GST Road, Anjaneyar was shifted to this newly constructed Ramar Temple.
Maha Kumbhabhishekam was conducted on 09th June 1995. The 5-tier Rajagopuram was constructed and Maha Kumbhabhishekam was conducted on 27th August 1998.
The temple activities are being managed by the
“Ramanjaneya Trust”, a registered trust.
POOJAS AND CELEBRATIONS
Apart from regular poojas special poojas are
conducted on Hanuman Jayanthi, Ramar Jayanthi, Vaikunta Ekadasi,
One of the special prayers is offered to Sri Anjaneyar in this temple. Those who have some wishes have to tie a coconut at this Anjaneyar sannidhi. It is believed that their wishes will be fulfilled within a month.

The temple will be kept open between 06.30 hrs to
11.00 hrs and 17.00 hrs to 20.30 hrs.

This Rama Anjaneyar Temple is on the west side of
GST Road between Siddha Hospital and Sanatorium in Chromepet.
Nearest Railway station is Chromepet Sub Urban
