Sri Veeramathi Amman Temple, Talguni, Arulmalai Murugan Temple, Thoranavavi & Sri Chandramouleeswarar Temple at Thingalur Erode District, Tamil Nadu.

18th September 2015.
My brother is a regular visitor to Our Kula Deivam Sri Veeramathi Amman Temple at Talkuni near Gobi & Kolappalur on No moon days ( Amavasai ). Since Sat 12th, Sep 2015 was a no moon day, I adjusted the plan, to suit my brother’s plan of visiting Sri Veeramathi Amman temple and Arul Malai near Getticheviyur. On the way to our tiny Village Pappavalasu. From our Native Village we had been to Thingalur Sri Chandramouleeswarar Temple.  This post mainly covers the relations between Arul Malai Murugan temple and Thingalur Sri Chandramouleeswarar Shiva temple.

ARUL MALAI MURUGAN TEMPLE.
This place is about 4 Km off main road from Getticheviyur  on Gobichettipalayam to Tiruppur main road. The temple is on a small Hill. My ancestors used to visit this temple, without knowing Sri Veeramathi Amman is our Kula Deivam. My ancestors had done a lot of thirupani to this temple.

Moolavar    : Sri Kirubakara Subramanya Swamy.

Some of the important features of this temple are....
The temple is facing east with the steps starting  from south. The steps are constructed during 1957. At the top entrance on the left sannadhi for Idumban.

In the outer prakaram sannadhi for Sri Visalakshi Samedha Lingeswarar, Navagrahas, Sani Bhagavan, Sri Vinayagar with Naagar and a 600 to 700 years old mandapam.

It was learnt that the temple was built about 600 to 700 years before and the reliefs on the pillars are worth to see. There is no inscription visible in side the temple to prove its antiquity.  The sanctum and mandapam pillars are completely white washed for many years.

A horse in stucco is standing near Sri Lingeswarar Sannadhi, installed by a devotee after his/ her prayer was answered by the grace of Lord Subramaniar.

The Sanctum sanctorum has  karuvarai and mandapam.  The moolavar is in life size in standing posture. There is no sannadhi for his consort.

Dwajasthambam, Palipedam and Peacock vahana are at the east side sanctum entrance. Invariably all temples in Kongu mandalam has the garuda  or Vilakku thoon at the entrance, which is used during karthigai Deepam festival.

This Temple presiding deity Sri Arumalai Murugan was praised by the 18th Century Kullaiyan’s son and a poet Avinashi Pulavar in his “Thingalur nondi Nadakam”.
