This Etti Vinayagar Temple is on the way to
Vandavasi From Melmaruvathur and the temple Village Padiri is about 2 KM off
the main road.
This temple is on the east side of the Village in
the open field with a temple tank in front. The old moortham of Vinayagar and
Sri Ganambigai are kept in a Vinayagar temple inside the village. Before
brought here it was told that thieves tried to stole the stone Idol
and the urchavar idol and they lost their eye sight and escaped after leaving
the idols. Next day the villagers found in the field near the temple and
brought to the present place. The urchavar is now at Shiva Temple.
The villagers decided to construct a new
shrine for the Etti Vinayagar on the same place and could not complete with
reasons are not known. Now the Villagers try to find out the reason
and start the construction activities. We also Pray Sri Etti Vinayagar to bless
us to complete the mission.
