Mylapore is  having an important place in the Saivam and Vaishnavam history. Many Saints had done miracles and many saints born in Mylapore area. Peyalwar one of the 12 Alwars was also born in Mylapore.

Sri Aadhi Kesava Perumal temple is one of the famous temple in Mylapore has a small Pond with different flowers. On Siddhartha year, Aippasi month, Dashami Thursday in Sadhaya Nakshatra Pei Alwar was born in one of the alli flower. He is the Hamsam of one of the Panja Aayudham of Lord Narayanan, the sword, which is called as “Nandhagam” in 7^th Century.

Peyalwar has sung Moondram Thiruvandhadhi Pasurams on Srirangam, Thiruvinnagaram ( Uppiliappan Temple ), AlagarKoil, Thirukottiyur, Thirukovilur, Thiruvallikeni and Thiruvenkadam.
