The Shiva temple is on the west side of the Devipattinam Bus Stand.

are...
The temple faces east with a 5-tier
Rajagopuram and balipeedam, Dwajasthambam and Rishabam / Idabam are immediately after the
Rajagopuram. In koshtam Dakshinamurthy, Lingothbavar and Durgai in place of Brahma. In the artha mandapam, sannadhi for Adhi Durgai,
Vinayagar and Murugan.
In the outer praharam sannadhi for Nagars,
Dakshinamurthy, Vinayagar Chandikeswarar, and Murugan without Valli Devasena. Ambal is in the Maha mandapam facing south in
standing posture and Bhairavar.
ARCHITECTURE
The temple consists of sanctum sanctorum, artha mandapam, and a Maha mandapam. The Sanctum Sanctorum is on a pada banda adhistanam with three patta kumudam on a kapota bandha upanam. A 2 tier NagaraVimanam is on the adhistanam, Vishnu kantha pilasters with kalasam, kudam, lotus petals mandi, palakai, Veerakandam, and Poomottu pothyal. In prastaram, Valapi, kapotam with nasis koodus and Viyyalavari. The Deva Koshtas are padra Koshtas. Kumbha latha are in the antarala out side wall.
HISTORY
The temple also comes under Ramanathapuram
Samasthanam. The temple is estimated to be of more than 1000 years old and Pandya / Chozha
period inscriptions are there in the adhistanam.
LEGEND:
It was believed that Ramar on the way to
Ayodhya Worshiped Lord Shiva of this temple with ‘el” a variety of millet.

The temple will be kept open between 07.30 Hrs to
12.00 Hrs and 17.00 Hrs to 20.00 Hrs
HOW TO REACH:
The temple is about 15 KM from Ramanathapuram.
The Buses from Ramanathapuram Bus Stand to
Devakottai pass through this place.

TEMPLE (NAVAGRAHA TEMPLE) AT DEVIPATTINAM
Since there is no Navagraha Sannadhi in the Shiva Temple, The
Navabashana Navagrahas like square concrete poles are considered as Navagrahas
in the sea. It was believed that Sri Rama Worshiped Lord Shiva
Thilakeshwarar at Devipattinam and came to this place and done parikaram. A lot of people throng this place for Navagraha Parikaram.
