After breakfast at Surutapalli, we continued our
yathra further towards Nagalapuram, where we used to take our lunch hosted by a
devotee. The morning walk was difficult due to hot sun and no trees to take
shelter. Vardah cyclone has not spared trees in Andhra Pradesh also. Reached
Nagalapuram, Sri Saibaba Temple and had our lunch. Taken rest up to 15.30 Hrs
and had the darshan of Sri Veda Narayana Swamy.

Some of important features of this temple are....
The temple is facing west with an entrance arch in
which Perumal’s 10 avatara stucco images. The temple has 3 Rajagopuras on
south, North and west. Balipeedam, Dwajasthambam are immediately after the
Rajagopuram.
In the outer parakaram Sannadhi for Veera
Anjaneyar, Lakshmi Narasimhar, Kothanda Ramar and Vedavalli Thayar.
The sanctum sanctorum consists of sanctum, artha mandapam, Maha mandapam and Mukha mandapam. In the inner prakaram sannadhi for
Vishwaksena, Lakshmi Varahaswamy, Venugopalaswamy, Lakshmi Narayana Swamy,
Hayagreevar.
In the sanctum Sri Vedanarayana Swamy is with
Sridevi and Bhudevi. At the entrance to the sanctum Sri Nagaraja Ganesh and
Vishnu Durgai are in standing posture. In koshtam, Vishnu Durgai, Brahma,
Lakshmi Bhu Varaha Swamy, Veera Dakshinamurthy and Ganapathy. ( similar to a
Shiva Temple ).
LEGENDS
As per the legend this is the first avatha mathsya
( fish ) sthalam of Perumal. The demon Somukasuran took the captivity of
4 Vedhas and kept under the sea. Perumal took the form fish and defeated
the demon and released the 4 vedas. Also it is a miracle that sun’s rays
used fall on the moolavar on 3 days in a year.

The temple will kept open between 06.30 Hrs to
20.30 Hrs with a lunch break for 3 hours
