to say that, ( I doubt) poojas are not conducted regularly. The temple is
always kept closed and the Sivachariyar is also not living within the

travels from distant places to get the darshan of Lord Shiva.

I was looking for information on veerasingham pettai is there a amma koil there , this is my ancestors temple (kula devaiva koil) we are interested in going to the temple for worship, we are in bangalore and I will be traveling with a 4 year old what is the best way to visit, I am thinking about taking a train from bangalore to tanjore, hire a car visit the temple, and come back. If there any other kids friendly places for visit in tanjore other than bharagadthiswarar temple. Thanks for your blog it was great read.
ReplyDeleteDear Sir,
ReplyDeleteTaking a train to Tanjore is a good idea. Yes There is Amman temple at Veerasingampettai. From Tanjore to Thiruvaiyaru route Place called Kandiyur, take a right before Kandiyur Shiva Temple to reach Veera singampettai. about 6 KM.
At Tanjore except Prakdeeswarar temple you can visit Saraswathy mahal, which is basically a museum for art and culture. Other than that there is no interesting place.
Thanks and regards
