 19, November 2012
On 17-11-2012 and 18-11-2012 I started my yatra once again to Kumbakonam South and southeast side for the Paadal Petra shiva sthalangal. This time it was a two-day yatra on Saturday and Sunday. On reaching Kumbakonam hired a Taxi through, Mr Alex,  one of my friends. I first thought of returning to Chennai on Sunday afternoon. But the driver suggested me visit some more temples and leave by evening bus. ( Afraid of a heavy rush to Chennai bus during evening hours ). Took a risk and agreed to visit some more temples. To add this from Thiruchengattankudi one Mr Kannan from the HR & CE Department’s, Commissioner's office also joined us up to Kottaru, on Sunday afternoon. Since he was associated with the HR & CE, we had a pleasant darshan of all the rest of the temples.  This time I was able to cover 20 temples and the total distance covered during this yathra was 320 KM. The driver charged me Rs 3200, which is inclusive of diesel.

Apart from Paadal Petra Shiva Sthalangal darshan, I had been to Sri-la – Sri Padakachery Ramalinga Swamigal madam ( A Siddhar associated with the Sri Nageswarar temple Rajagopuram construction and in Chennai a small Vinayagar temple at Guindy. His Jeeva Samadhi is now near Pattinathar Jeeva Samadhi. He is well known for his Bhairavar pooja annadhanam ) and Thirunaraiyur Sri Srinivasa Perumal – The well-known KAL GARUDAN –temple. This temple is also one of the 108 Divya Desam.  The details and photos will be uploaded in the next post.

17-11-2012, DAY – 1. SATURDAY.
