THE DUTCH CEMETERY
Visited this Dutch
Cemetery at Pulicat (Pazhaverkadu) last year and posted in my blog
with details and photographs. This visit is focused on heritage value. The
cemetery has graves mainly for the Dutch personnel who lived in Pulicat
during the 17th century. Ornamental engravings were done with
birds, animals, flowers, etc. It was said that from one of the tombs, an
underground passage led to the fort. Some died during the months of
October and November. We could trace a 19th-century tomb also.

ST ANTONY’S CHURCH
This Church might have been built during the 1700s, the 18th Century.
Constructed with brick and a tiled roof. The altar is very simple. At the
entrance top, some of the tiles had fallen down, and it was said that the Church
is under worship.
