August 2018.
It was told that
there is a Chozha period Shiva temple at Mulbagal when we visited Sri
Virupakshi. Mulbagal was originally called as Mudala bagilu. This means the “eastern
entrance” to the erstwhile Mysore state from Vijayanagara. Latter it became
Mulbagal and now called as Mulbagal. There are many historical temples in and
around this place and one such a temple is this Sri Purana Prasidda Someshwara Temple. On 4th October 1768 CE, the first Mysore - Anglo war was held in this place.
