Continuation post of Pulicat – A heritage Visit.
25th February 2017.
THE DUTCH CEMETERY
Visited to this Dutch
Cemetery at Pulicat ( Pazhaverkadu ) last year and posted in my blog
with details and photographs. This visit is focused on heritage value. The
cemetery has the graves mainly for the Dutch personal, who lived in Pulicat
during 17th century. Ornamental engravings were done with
birds, animals, flowers etc. It was told that from one of the tomb an
underground passage was leading to the fort. Some are died during the month of
October and November. We could trace a 19th century tomb also.

ST ANTONY’S CHURCH
This Church might have been built during 1700’s, ie 18th Century.
Constructed with brick and Tiled roof. The alter is very simple. At the
entrance top some of the tiles had fallen down and it was told that the Church
is under worship.
