Sri Chandrasekara Temple, Hampi Ruins, hampi, Karnataka.

…. A Continuation post to Octagonal Water Pavilion
19th June 2017.
This east-facing 16th (somebody claims it is the 15th century) century Chandrasekara was built very near to Queen Bath. This temple was dedicated to Lord Shiva.

The sanctum sanctorum consists of a sanctum, antarala, sabha mandapa, and mukha mandapa. This temple has a prakara and Rajagopuram is on the east side. The Vimanam over the sanctum was built in Dravidian style with three tiers using bricks and mortar. The saba mandapa has two entrances and the pillars have the reliefs of saivate deities.

With this, we wound up our Hampi Ruins Heritage Visit after a brief meeting. Mr. Gireesh was presented with a Guide book of Badami with all our signatures and said goodbye to each other and got dropped at the Bus stand for the return journey to Chennai full of Hampi memories lingering in our minds. Thanks to Mr. Gireesh, Mr. Rajasekar, Mrs. Vidya, and my co-participants for this wonderful heritage visit. Thanks to all once again.
