Sri Kalyana Varadharaja Temple at Kolumam, near Udumalpet, Tiruppur District, Tamil Nadu.

This 13th  century  Perumal temple is also one of the Shiva & Vishnu Temple constructed by Kongu Chozha King Veera Rajendran ( 1207 CE to 1256 CE )  on the banks of river Amravati to get rid of the Graha dosham ( a solar eclipse happened on his  birth date ).


Moolavar : Sri Kalyana Varadharaja Perumal.
Thayar    : Sri Vedhavalli Thayar.

Some of the important features of this temple are...
The temple is facing east, adjacent to the Shiva Temple. A deepasthambham with mandapam is in front of the temple.

In the outer prakaram sannadhi for Thayar facing east on the left side of sanctum. The Sanctum Sanctorum consists of a Sanctum, antarala, ardha mandapam and Mukha mandapam. Garudalwar is in front of moolavar in mukha mandapam. Alwars are in the artha mandapam.


HISTORY AND INSCRIPTIONS
The 13th century Kongu Chozha period inscriptions are found around sanctum walls, kumudam. The inscriptions mainly speaks about the donations given to the temple.

The temple will be kept opened between 07.00 hrs to 12.00 hrs and 16.00 hrs to 20.00 hrs.
