While we
passed through the entrance arch erected by the side of Kanchipuram to Arakkonam
Railway line, decided to visit this temple before proceeding to Govindavadi
Konar Temple. Even-though the actual distance between these temples are about
600 to 700 meters only, we have to detour for about 6 to 7 Km to reach Konar
temple.

earliest inscriptions belongs to Rajendra Chozha-I ( 1012-1044 AD) mentions
about the donation made to the Shiva temple of Takkolam, which is
about 10 KM from Govindavadi. A latter period inscription speaks
about one Yogananda Theertha swami donated land for this temple.

while Lord Vishnu using his discus or chakra in favour of his
devotee, it slipped and fell down and lost loosing its power. Prayed Lord Shiva
