Sri Shiva Temple/ Enadhimelpakkam Shiva Temple/ ஏனாதிமேல்பாக்கம் சிவன் கோயில், Enadhimelpakkam / Enathimelpakkam, Tiruvallur District, Tamil Nadu.

The Visit to this Shiva temple at Enadhimelpakkam in Thiruvallur District was a part of Pallava period Brahma sastha as Subramaniar Temple, in Andhra Pradesh and a Shiva Temple in Tiruvallur District Visit on 16th September 2023.

Some of the Salient features of this temple are….
This temple faces east with an entrance from the south side.  Rishabam and balipeedam are in front of the sanctum sanctorum. Vinayagar and Murugan are on both side of the sanctum sanctorum. In koshtam Dakshinamurthy and Mahavishnu.

In praharam Chandikeswarar, Ambal Vijayambigai and Bairavar.




ARCHITECTURE
The temple is very small.  The whole temple was constructed with bricks and cement concrete. The Temple is only with Sanctum Sanctorum. The sanctum sanctorum is square in shape. An ekatala Gajaprishta Vimanam is on the sanctum sanctorum. Shiva with Parvati is lalada nasi. Dakshinamurthy, Maha Vishnu, and Brahma are in the Greeva Koshtam.





HISTORY AND INSCRIPTIONS
The present structure was constructed in recent years. It was said that the Shiva Lingam was found in the same place where the temple was constructed and it is believed that the Shiva Lingam belongs to the Chozha period, hence as Gajaprishta Vimana temple was built.

LEGENDS
It is believed that Shiva of this temple was worshipped by Suryan and Agasthiyar.

POOJAS AND CELEBRATIONS
Apart from oru kala pooja Special poojas are conducted on Pradosham, and Maha Shivaratri days.

TEMPLE TIMINGS
Since oru kala pooja is conducted the closing and opening times of the sanctum sanctorum are not known.

This Village is on the east side of Gummidipoondi about 4 KM from Railway Station.  The temple is about 14 KM from Ponneri and 45 KM from Chennai Central.
The nearest Railway station is Gummidipoondi.
