Sri Devi Bhavani Amman Temple at Ramakrishna Nagar, West Velachery, Adambakkam, Chennai, Tamil Nadu.

13, September 2012
This temple is at Ramakrishna Nagar, part of west Velachery. When we bought a piece of land to build our home during 1999, the temple was very small, a piece of land was allotted to this Amman. Once the total Ramakrishna Nagar was a paddy field which has got irrigation from the big round well. It was told that adjacent irrigation well will also be given to this temple by the old owner. Latter after filling up the well, the old owner became greedy and he had sold to some body.

In the mean time the resident want to upgrade this temple with Vimanam and Mandapam. The amman moortham was bought from Mahabalipuram and Stucco image work was carried out by sthapathis from Tirunelveli dist. The new owner of the land, ( The old well) raised a complaint with police that the temple encroached portion of land. ( Due to this there was a delay in completing the construction of this temple.) Then the residents with the help of a Politician the temple was re-constructed and Ashta Bandhana Maha kumbabishekam was conducted recently on 29-08-2012 in a grand manner as per agamam and the Mandala pooja is in the process.

During construction stage it was observed that Vinayagar, Hanuman and Amman faces are appeared in the trunk of the bodhi tree ( Arasa maram ). The photos taken during construction of the temple and the kumbhabhishekam are up loaded in this post.
