Sri Kapaleeswarar Temple, Mylapore Panguni Peruvizha 2016, Chennai, Tamil Nadu.

 22nd March 2016.
The 10 days Mylapore Sri Kapaleeswarar temple Brahmotsavam or Panguni Peru Vizha  used to held during Tamil Panguni month ( March – April ). This year the festival started on 13th March 2016 and ends on 24th March 2016. During this festival Utsavars used to circumambulate in all 4 mada street and bless the devotees. Yesterday on the ninth day and called as Arupathu moovar Vizha.  Urchavar Sri Periyanayaki samedha Sri Kapaleeswarar in chariot came around the mada streets. Moovar urchava murtis  in individual pallakku and other nayanmars were kept in a group facing Lord Shiva  carried around the mada streets.

It was an enjoyable sight and I went around all the four mada street swimming in the crowd.  This is the first time I am visiting to Mylapore Panguni Peruvizha after I shifted to Chennai  from Tuticorin. Free prasadam, food in stalls, sweets, Chocolates, cucumber, buttermilk, water are served by the donors to the devotees. This added more confusions to the crowd. The crowds are not regulated properly. Devotees are not keeping one direction ie left but, walked  in crisscross manner.

Sri Parinthurai Eswarar Temple, Thathaimanji, Sri Tripura Sundari Sametha Sri Thiruvaleeswarar, Pulicat / Pazhaverkadu, Thiruvallur District, Tamil Nadu.

 16th March, 2016.
After our darshan of Sri Paleeswarar we decided to return back to Chennai.   Instead of continuing further we return back for about 3 KM and taken the route to Minjur through Kattur.  While crossing the place called Thathaimanji my friend stopped near a shiva temple found to be of recently constructed. But when we went inside the temple  and found the temple was very old may be 300 to 400 years and reconstructed latter keeping the mandapam old pillars.

Some of the important details of this temple are……
The temple is facing east  with an entrance arch on the south side. Balipeedam and Rishabam are in the outer prakaram. Moolavar is small and looks beautiful.

Vinayagar, Sri Valli Devasena Subramaniar, Navagrahas and Chandikeswarar sannadhis are also in the outer prakaram.

TEMPLE TIMINGS :
Since one kala pooja is conducted the timings are not predictable.

The Gurukkal  told us there is also an old temple at  Kattur on our way back to home. On the way to Shiva temple we had the darshan of Sri Vainkuntavasa Perumal.

SRI VAIKUNDAVASA PERUMAL TEMPLE - KATTUR

Vaikundavasa Perumal temple is facing west with a Rajagopuram on the south side. Thayar Vaikundavalli is not in a separate sannadhi but  in the mandapam of main sanctum. Garudalwar is in front of moolavar. There are separate sannadhi for Ramar and Chakkarathalwar.

The Shiva temple temple is at the end of the  street and it welcomed us with the Sharp Rajagopuram  on the east side. We could not obtain more information about the temple and sanctum was closed, keeping the Rajagopuram main gate open.
