14-07-2012 - SATURDAY
As usual started from Chennai on the 13th Friday, July 2012, at night and reached Kumbakonam around 4.30 Hrs. Stayed in Hotel MSM Lodge near the Bus stand.

Started my journey first to the three temples in Kumbakonam city,  Sri Adi Kumbeswarar, Sri Someswarar, and Sri Nageswarar, which are very near to each other. Returned to the bus stand and boarded the city bus to Patteeswaram. Went to  Sakthi Mutram Shiva temple, which is on the adjacent road to Sri Patteeswarar temple. The Pazhayarai Vadathali is about 3 km from Patteeswaram, and there is no proper bus facility to take an auto to and fro.  From Patteeswaram, boarded a bus to Avoor Sri Pasupatheeswarar Temple, and from there went to Thirukarukavur by Kumbakonam to Thanjavur bus. To have the darshan before the closure of the temple at Thirukarukavur went through an auto to the temple. On return, I had to walk for about 1 km from the temple to the bus stand and waited for about 2 hours to get a bus to Kumbakonam.

Afternoon went to Thiruvidaimaruthur and from there went to Aduthurai (Thenkurangaduthurai (Aduthurai)) through Kumbakonam to Chidambaram bus and return to Kumbakonam around 20.00 Hrs.
