Sri Kasi Viswanathar Temple and Thathathreyar Temple, Kolumam near Udumalpet, Tiruppur District, Tamil Nadu.

This temple is on the banks of river Amaravati and also one of the 13th century Shiva   temple constructed by Kongu Chozha King Veera Rajendran to get rid of the Graha dosham.

Some of the important features of this temple are....
The temple is facing  east without dwajasthambam.  Two Rishabas  and balipeedam are immediately after the east side entrance.  The east side entrance arch has the stucco images of both sides.


In the outer prakaram sannadhi for Vinayagar, Shanieswarar, Subramaniyar, Bhairavar, Sri Venugopala Swamy, Chandran and Suriyan. In koshtam Dakshinamurthy alone.

The sanctum sanctorum consists of sanctum, antarala, Artha mandapam and a mukha mandapam. Ambal is in artha mandapam. Ambal and moolavar are small.

HISTORY & INSCRIPTIONS
The 13th century Kongu Chozha King  Veera Rajendra’s  inscriptions are there around the sanctum wall. From the inscriptions the temple is located in karai vazhi Nadu, may be since the place is on the banks of river Amaravati. The inscriptions speaks about the donations given to temple for pooja and burning of  perpetual lamp.



TEMPLE TIMINGS:
The temple will be kept opened between 07.00 hrs to 12.00 hrs and 16.00 hrs to 20.00 hrs.
