After
a gap of 2 months, once again started the temple Visit along with Mr Kesavan, a Heritage Enthusiast from Arasar Koil to
Koovathur on the banks of Palar River, near Chengalpattu. This place Mulli is
on the banks of river Kiliyar which starts from Madurantakam Lake and joins
with Palar River.

Some
of the salient features of this temple are.
The
temple faces east. Balipeedam and Nandhi are in front, under the newly built
mandapa. The Moolavar Shiva Linga is in the sanctum sanctorum and Ambal is in
artha mandapaம். There is no koshtam and Vimana.
ARCHITECTURE
The
Sanctum Sanctorum is on a padabandha adhisthana with Upapeda, Jagathய், and Tripatta Kumuda. Only the
adhisthana was built with stone on a platform like a peedam. The wall and prastaram are built with bricks.
HISTORY &
INSCRIPTIONS
The
temple is believed to constructed from the 10th to 11th Century
CE. Chozha period inscriptions are found on the adhisthana kumuda and jagathi. The inscriptions belong to Kulothunga -I, (1070 - 1122 CE) and Kulothunga-II (1133 - 1150 CE). Kulothunga -II, inscription starts with his Title / mei keerthi "poomevi valara..." ( பூமேவி வளர.... ). The inscription speaks about the gift of its periphery limits.
The temple is maintained in its original form and there is no major renovation has been carried out to date.
