The Visit to this Sri Vaidyanatha Swamy Temple at
Tambaram Sanatorium / Chrompet was a part of “Shiva and Rama Anjaneyar
Temple’s Visit” on 21st January 2024. This Sri Vaidyanatha Swamy Temple and
Arulmigu Sri Rama Anjaneyar Temple, on GST Road, Tambaram sanatorium area are relocated
to this place, to give way for the GST Road widening.

Some of the salient features of this temple are….
The temple faces east with a 5-tier
Rajagopuram. The Rajagopuram is with Dakshinamurthy and Brahma stucco images on the side of Tala and Greeva koshtas. Balipeedam and Rishabam are after the
rajagopuram. Dwarapalakas are at the entrance of the sanctum sanctorum. In koshtam Dakshinamurthy
and Durgai.
In praharam Sasi Mangala Vinayagar, Sri Valli
Devasena Muthukumaraswamy, Natarajar, Chandikeswarar and Navagrahas.
Ambal Thaiyal Nayaki is in a separate sannidhi,
facing South. Ambal is in standing posture with abhaya varada hastam.
ARCHITECTURE
The complete temple was constructed with bricks and
cement concrete. The temple consists of sanctum sanctorum, ardha mandapam on a
raised upanam. The sanctum sanctorum is constructed in Gajaprishta /
Gajabrushta style, with Upanam, Jagathi, three patta kumudam, and pattikai. The
Bhitti starts with vedika and pilasters are of Brahma kantha pilasters. The
prastaram consists of valapi, kapotam with nasikudus. The vimanam above bhumi desam
is built with brick in Gajaprishta
style. Stucco images of Shiva, Dakshinamurthy, Maha Vishnu, and Brahma are in
the Tala and Greeva Kostas. Shiva’s image is in the lalada nasi.
HISTORY AND INSCRIPTIONS
It was told that Shiva Lingam and Anjaneyar existed about 50 meters from this place. Due to the widening of the road, GST Road, Shiva
Lingam was shifted to this newly constructed Temple. Maha Kumbhabhishekam was
conducted on 09th June 1995. The
5-tier rajagopuram was constructed and Maha Kumbhabhishekam was conducted on 27th
August 1998.
The temple activities are being managed by the
“Ramanjaneya Trust”, a registered trust.
POOJAS AND CELEBRATIONS
Apart from regular poojas, special poojas are
conducted on pradosham, Maha Shivaratri,
Vinayagar Chaturthi etc,.

The temple will be kept open between 06.30 hrs to
11.00 hrs and 17.00 hrs to 20.30 hrs.

side of GST Road between Siddha Hospital and Sanatorium in Chromepet.
