This Heritage visit was materialized only
few weeks before, while planning to attend a friend’s house warming ceremony at
Erode. Then Kongu Sadasivam was kind enough to accompany with us ( M/s
Srinivasan, Raja & Gowthami ) for this visit to Sri Sugreeswarar Temple at
Sarkar Periyapalayam ( Sircar Periyapalayam from google map ), near Tiruppur. He also showed us a sati stone
in the same Village.
The owner of the land Mr Mani ( mobile
number 9443729919) told us that they are worshiping this as Veerabhadra and
offer poojas daily. Half of the Sati stone is visible above the
ground. We explained to Mr. Mani the importance of that Sati Stone and
asked him to dig it out and keep the full Sati Stone on a pedestal.
( some inscriptions may be on the base.. )
