On the 5th Sunday evening, I went to Mylapore to attend my friend’s son's marriage reception. Utilizing this opportunity had the darshan of Sri Visalakshi sametha Sri Viswanathar on Sri Appar Swamigal Jeeva Samadhi. On the way, we peeped into the Mylapore Hanuman temple also.

He attained Jeeva Samadhi in the year 1851  CE, and his disciple, Chidambaram Swamigal, built this temple in the year 1853 CE.  There is an interesting story of Sri Appar Swamigal. An Englishman obstructs the way for Appar Swamigal’s worship of Lord Shiva. The Englishman went back to London and was attacked by paralysis. Returned to India and begged Sri Apparswamikal’s mercy.
