After
visiting Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple at Marehalli, we headed to towards
Malahalli to Visit Ravaleswara Temple. Happened to see this temple built in Chozha architecture in ruins on the
side of the road

Some
of the important details are…
The
temple front mandapa is in dilapidated
condition and ceiling beam is standing on a temporary wooden support. The temple is
facing east with a Palipedam and Rishabam. The sanctum sanctorum consists of
sanctum, antarala and ardha mandapa. Moolavar is on a square avudayar. The
sanctum is constructed with simple padabandha adhisthana and without any koshtam. Vimana
is the combination of Nagara and Vesara type built with brick and mortar.
In
the outer prakara sannadhi for Navagrahas, Krishnar, Vinayagar and Nagars under
a peepal tree. It was told that sun rays used to fall 3 days on moolavar during
uttarayana period. Ambal sannidhi is facing south in ardha mandapam with out
idol. The Poojari showed us a tiny Amman image and told that the same was found
in the Amman Sannadhi.

It
was told that the temple belongs to the same period of Sri Lakshmi Narasimha
Swamy Temple and built by Chozha King Rajaraja –I.
The
out side temple was cleared and renovation works are started recently. The
Poojari requested us to write in social media to popularize this temple.
