Mr Kesavan, a student and a History enthusiast gave a list of temples to be visited with important details in advance. Some more temples and heritage sites which we came across on the way are added during our visit.

Moolavar: Sri Adaleswarar

Some of the important details are..
The temple is facing east with balipeedam and Nandhi. The temple tank with bloomed lotus flowers is on the back side. The Temple consists of sanctum and artha mandapam. Koshtas are empty. An ekathala vimana is on the sanctum. Around the temple are some loose sculptures of Dakshinamurthy, Jyeshta Devi / Thavvai, a Headless Amman.

ARCHITECTURE
The original Chozha period temple was reconstructed about 100 to 200 years back. The adhisthana is of simple pathabhandha adhisthana with tripatta kumuda. The original temple had the mandapa surround the sanctum and mukha mandapa. The pillars of the mandapa are still standing out side. The rest of the dismantled structures are dumped out side.

HISTORY & INSCRIPTIONS
The original temple may belongs to Pallava period. The outside standing pillars has the Chozha Period inscriptions. It was told that all the inscriptions are recorded. In one of the Pillar, Rajaraja-I ( 985-1014 AD ), inscription starts with his meikeerthi/ Title as "திருமகள் போல...."

As per the inscriptions this place was called as Kumizhi Nattu Kayar and Kamala Naraya Chathurvedi Mangalam.  The one inscription speaks about donation of land to this temple after purchasing from another person. The Chozha inscription speaks about taxes, donation of cow and money towards regular poojas and burning of perpetual lamps.

Adithya Chozha period inscription records donation of a perpetual lamp and feed the devotees by Thanichelvan of Vandalacheri.  One of the inscription is reproduced as below. ( SII Volume, 95, 96, 132
