19th February 2018.
After the dharshan of Sri Kali, at Madras Kali Bari Temple, noticed an arch on the Umapathy Street at the entrance of Appasamy street. The name written is Sri Angala Parameswari temple ( Putru Koil ) புற்றுக் கோவில். Thought this may be one of the Kaval Theivam of Mambalam. The Temple inscription disappointed me and the temple was built in 1978, in the recent years.
Deity : Sri Angala Parameswari Amman.
Some of the important details are as follows......
The Temple is facing North with a 3 tier Rajagoupram at the end of the Appasamy street.. The temple is very small and kept neat and clean.
Amman is in sitting posture with smham, palipedam are in front. In koshtam, Ganapathy, Dhakshinamurthy and Siva Durgai. Sannadhi for Navagrahas, Iyappan, Valli Devanai Subramaniyar, Saptha kanniyar and Urchavar are around the sanctum. A putru.. an Ant Hill is on the west side of the sanctum.
As per the inscription the temple was constructed by one Mr Poongavana Nayakkar during 1978. Since the Ant hill seems to be older than the temple, there must be an old temple existed at this place.
The temple will be kept opened between 06.30 hrs to 10.30 hrs and 17.30 hrs to 20.00 hrs.
