On the way to Chidambaram
Natarajar temple from Nandanar madam, we went to this Sekkizhar maniMandapam.
This was managed by the Karanthai Jayakanthan – Duraikannu Sekkizhar Vizha Trust,
since 1989. Most of the trustees are from United Kingdom. Land for this
Manimandapam was donated by Arumuga Navalar, one of the Shiva devotee from
Sri Lanka. Arumuga Navalar was the instrumental for finding out the original
place of Thiruketheeswaram Temple in Sri Lanka after it was completely
destroyed by the Portuguese.
Ground floor housed
a hall called Thirunavukkarasar Hall where regular discourses and functions are
held. The first floor walls are adorned with stucco reliefs of 63 Nayanmars and
9 Thogai Adiyars story.
