Thandrampattu hero stones are part of Chengam Nadukarkal, in Thiruvannamalai region. This Temple is called as Krishnaarappan Koil and the temple has two hero stones. The Temple also has the Terracotta / Baked clay horses offered as prayer to this temple. Apart  from regular poojas, annual festivals are being conducted during Aadi month.

திருவண்ணாமலைப் பகுதியைச் சார்ந்த தண்டராம்பட்டு கிராமத்தில் இருக்கும் இரு நடுகற்களும் செங்கம் நடுகற்கள் தொகுப்பின் ஒரு பகுதியே. இவை இருக்கும் இடத்தை கிராமத்தார் கிருஷ்ணாரப்பன் கோயில் என்று குறிப்பிடுகின்றனர். இக்கோவிலிலும் சுடுமண் குதிரைகள் நேர்த்திக்கடனாக வைக்கப்பட்டு இருக்கின்றன. தினப்பூசையைத் தவிர்த்து ஆடிமாத திருவிழாவும் வெகு விமரிசையாகக் கொண்டாடப்படுகின்றது. ஆடு, கோழி என இருவருக்கும் படைக்கப்படுகின்றது.

In the First hero stone, the hero is holding a dagger ( Katar)  and a bow. The Mangal articles like, simizh, Mirror with handle and Kendi are also shown. The two finely finished thoronas signifies that the hero must be an important person with high social status. From the inscriptions the hero stone belongs to 7^th century Pallava King Narasimhavarman-I’s 7^th year rule. As per the inscriptions this hero stone was erected for Kaduvathaiyar’s son Virsithai who was killed in a war between VaanaKo’s and his uncle Ponmothanar.

இந்த வீரக்கல்லில் வீரனது தலை இடது புறம் திரும்பி இருக்க கைகளில் வில்லும் குறுவாளும் ஏந்திய நிலையில் காட்டப்பட்டு உள்ளது. மங்களச் சின்னங்களான கண்ணாடியும் கெண்டியும் காட்டப்பட்டு உள்ளன. மேலே வெட்டப்பட்டு உள்ள கல்வெட்டுக்களின் படி இந்த வீரக்கல்  கிபி ஏழாம் நூற்றாண்டு பல்லவ மன்னன் முதலாம் நரசிம்ம வர்மனின் 7ஆம் ஆட்சி ஆண்டில் நடப்பட்டதாகும். கல்வெட்டு வாணகோ தன் சிற்றப்பன் பொன்மாந்தனார் மீது படையெடுத்தபோது, பொன்மாந்தனாருக்காக கடுவந்தையார் மகனான் விற்சிதை என்பார் போரில் வீர மரணம் அடைந்ததைக் கூறுகின்றது.

கோவிசைய நரைசிங்கபருமற்கு யாண்டேழாவது மேற்கோவலூர் மேல் வாணகோ முத்தரைசர் நாடு பாவிய தஞ்சிற்றப்படிகள் பொன்மாந்தனார் மேற் வந்த ஞான்று பொன்மாந்தானார்க்காய்ப் பட்டான் கடுவந்தையார் மகன் விற்சிதை கல் வாண கோக்கடமர்.

The Second Hero stone is facing south. In this the hero holds a dagger/ katar and a bow in hands. The Mangal articles of Simizh, Mirror and Kendi are shown. A single thorana is also shown above the image. The hero died due to hitting of multiple arrows on the head and chest. The inscriptions are inscribed on the top and left of the hero stone. The hero stone was erected in 7^th century Narasimha Varman-I’s 7^th years rule for Thurumavanaar’s son Markadalan who died in a war against VaaNako and his uncle Ponmanthanar.

இரண்டாவது வீரக்கல்லில் வீரன் இடதுபுறம் பார்த்த நிலையில் இரு கைகளிலும் வில்லும், குறுவாளும் ஏந்திய நிலையில் செதுக்கப்பட்டு உள்ளது. சமுதாயத்தில் முக்கியமானவர் என்பதைக் காட்ட தோரணம் ஒன்றும், மங்களச் சின்னங்கலான சிமிழ், கண்ணாடி மற்றும் கெண்டியும் காட்டப்பட்டு உள்ளது. வீரனது நெற்றியிலும் மார்பிலும் தைக்கப்பட்டள்ள அம்புகளைக் காணும் போது, இவ்வீரன் போரில் இறந்ததை உறுதிப்படுத்துகின்றது. கல்வெட்டு வாசகங்களின் படி இந்த வீர நடுகல், கிபி ஏழாம் நூற்றாண்டில் பல்லவ மன்னன் முதலாம் நரசிம்மவர்மனின் ஏழாம் ஆட்சி ஆண்டில் நடப்பட்டது என்பதை அறிய முடிகின்றது. மேலும் இக்கல்வெட்டு, வாணகோ தன் சிற்றப்பன் பொன்மாந்தனார் மேற் படையெடுத்தபோது துருமாவனார் மகனான மாற்கடலன் என்பார் போரில் வீர மரணம் அடைந்ததைக் கூறுகின்றது.
