HISTORY AND INSCRIPTIONS
Looking at
the details and iconography of the Murtis/idols, the temple might have been built
during the 11th to 12th century, later in the Chozha period, and renovated
by the Marathas. In 2011, Kumbhabhishekam was conducted through sponsorship. The Kandha Sasti Kavasam was written in this temple by Bala Devarayan.
Maha Kumbhabhishekam was conducted in January 2025.
