Saint Dnyaneshwar Maharaj Samadhi Mandir, Alandi, Pune, Maharashtra, India, A JyotirLinga Yatra.

 24th February, 2016.

DAY -7, 08-02-2016.
After the darshan of Shri Bhimashankar, we continued our yathra to Pune to stay at Alandi,  to catch the train to Hyderabad for our scheduled Darshan of Sri Raghavendra at Mantralayam. We stayed in the Shri Gajanan Maharaj rest house. It was almost a full day journey of which half by Train and half by bus.  Since, we had enough time to catch the train, we had the early morning Darshan of Shri Dnyaneshwar Maharaj Samadhi mandir, which is on the banks of Indrayani river.

Saint Dnyaneshwar was born in the year 1193 AD and believed that he was the incarnation of Lord Vishnu. He is the first person to translate Bhagavad Geetha in Marathi language with  9033 verses at the age of 21 years. He wrote mystical poems with very high spiritual standards which can be understood only by spiritual seekers at top end levels. He also composed set of poems  which can be easily understood by common man to lead a peaceful life.  Saint Dnyaneshwar’s life itself was a full of misery if we look at it from empirical point of view. His father and mother attained jala Samadhi  for his upanayana sanskar. He had done many miracles of which, one is he made a buffalo to recite Vedha.  His younger brother Saint Namdev is the incarnation of Brahma, who made Shiva and the temple turned towards him by his Kirtan at Aundha Nagnath Temple.

Saint Dnyaneshwar Maharaj at the age of 22 went to Samadhi, near Sri Siddhesvara temple on the banks of river Indrayani. Every year His disciples and followers still carry his padukas,  in a procession  singing and dancing to Sri Panduranga temple at Pandaripuram.
