The
Visit to this Mahavir Tirthankara at Pallipuram a part of Subbareddipalayam
near Minjur was a part of “Shiva, Maha Vishnu, Saptamatrikas and Jain
Tirthankara Temples Visit”, in and around Gummidipoondi and Minjur on 13th
May 2023.
With
the help of the Auto driver and the local Villager, we are able to reach the
spot of Ennai Samiyar alias Tirthankara, in the midst of fields at Pallipuram a
part of Subbareddipalayam. The Tirthankara is sitting under the open sky as
roof in Sun and rain for the past 1000 years. As per the Historians this
Tirthankara belongs to Chozha period.
கிராமத்தாரின் வழிகாட்டுதலுடன்,
எண்ணைச் சாமியார் எனப்படும் இந்த தீர்த்தங்கரரை சுப்பாரெட்டிபாளையத்தின் ஒரு பகுதியான
பள்ளிபுரத்தின் வயல்வெளியில் காண முடிந்தது. வானமே கூரையாக வெய்யிலிலும் மழையிலும்
சுமார் ஆயிரம் வருடங்களாக தியானத்தில் அமர்ந்து இருக்கின்றார். ஆய்வாளர்கள் இத்தீர்த்தங்கரர்
சோழர்காலத்தைச் சார்ந்தவராக கூறுகின்றனர்.
The
Tirthankara is in sitting posture and the hands are in meditation posture.
Samaratharis are shown on both side of the Tirthankara. Mukkudai is shown above
his head. Prabai is also shown behind his head. The hands are found with little
damage.
தீர்த்தங்கரர் தியானத்தில் அமர்ந்த
நிலையில் காணப்படுகின்றார். சாமரதாரிகள் இருவரும் தீர்த்தங்கரரின் இருபுறமும் காட்டப்பட்டு
உள்ளனர். தீர்த்தங்கரரின் தலைக்குப் பின்புறம் பிரபையும், தலைக்கு மேலே முக்குடையும்
அதைச் சுற்றி அசோக மரத்தின் கொடிகளும் காட்டப்பட்டு உள்ளது. கைகள் சிறிதளவு சேதம் அடைந்த
நிலையில் காணப்படுகின்றது.
There is a story about this Tirthankara among the
Villagers. The Story goes like this. Once
an oil merchant was passing through this place. Suddenly he died and the
Villagers worshiped him as “ENNai samiyar”.
கிராம மக்கள் இந்த தீர்த்தங்கரரை
எண்ணைச் சாமியார் என்று அழைக்கின்றனர்… அதற்காக வழிவழியாக கூறப்படும் கதை ஒன்று உள்ளது.
ஒரு சமயம் ஒரு எண்ணை வணிகர் இவ்வழியே வந்து
கொண்டு இருந்தாராம். அவர் திடீரென இறந்து விடவே அவருக்கு கல் எழுப்பி வழிபடுவதாகக்
கூறுகின்றனர்.
