Arulmigu Sri Selva Senraya Perumal Kovil / ஸ்ரீ செல்வ சென்றாய பெருமாள் கோவில், Chinna Negamam, Coimbatore District, Tamil Nadu.

The visit to this Arulmigu Sri Selva Senraya Perumal Kovil at Chinna Negamam was a part of “Temples, Hero Stones, Memorial Stones, Hero Stambhas (Mala Koil) and Heritage Sites Visit, around Pollachi”, on 31st January 2026 and 1st February 2026. Thanks to Mr. Bala, Mrs. Padma Jyothi, and Mrs. Sakthi Prakash for accompanying me on both days.

Some of the salient features of this temple are…
The temple faces east with an entrance from the north and east. A stucco image of Ranganathar is on the east side entrance. DeepaStambhamm and Thulasi Madam are in front of the east side entrance.  

In the praharam, a Memorial Stone /Nadukal and Garuda.

Mandapa pillars have the sculptures of Chinna Negamam Zamin Kondama Nayakar, Muthammal, Vellaveeayammal, and Muthuvallakonama Thelaiya Nayakar. (Individual idols are installed in a separate temple – without a roof – in the coconut farm).

ARCHITECTURE
The temple consists of the sanctum sanctorum, the ardha mandapam, and an open mukha mandapam. The sanctum sanctorum is on a pada bandha adhistanam with jagathy, threepatta kumudam, and pattikai. The bhitti starts with vedikai. The prastaram consists of valapi and kapotam with nasi kudus. A 1 tala vimanam is above the bhumi desam, with greevam and a nagara sigaram.  Stucco images of Maha Vishnu’s various avatars are on the tala and greeva koshtams.








HISTORY AND INSCRIPTIONS
The temple was constructed during the 18th – 19th century. The inscriptions on the sanctum sanctorum's south and north walls record the construction of the brick maha mandapam, Garuda Stambham, Well, and Madapalli. The temple belongs to Chinna Negamam Zamin.

Apart from oru kala pooja, special poojas are conducted on Vaikunta Ekadasi, Rama Navami, etc.

TEMPLE TIMINGS
Since oru kala poojas are conducted, the temple will be kept open for darshan in the morning hours.

The temple at Chinna Negamam is 3 km from Palladam to Pollachi Road, 19 km from Pollachi, 39 km from Palladam, and 44 km from Coimbatore.
The nearest Railway Station is Pollachi.
