Shri Vaiyaaleeswarar Shivan Temple, Pushpagiri, Manimangalam, Kanchipuram District, Tamil Nadu.

The visit to the Sri Vaiyaaleeswarar Temple at Manimangalam was part of the Mahashivaratri 2026 darshan of Shiva Temples in and around Kanchipuram, on 15 February 2026. This Spiritual Tour was organised by Chithiram Pesuthada Group. Thanks to Suresh and Krishna.

The Shiva Lingam with a new Rishabam is inside a shed. Old Rishabam is also kept in front of the temple.

ARCHITECTURE
The Shiva Lingam was kept open sky under a neem tree. A new shed was constructed, and Shiva Lingam was installed.


HISTORY AND INSCRIPTIONS
It is said that this Shiva Lingam belongs to one of the 8 Shiva temples built during the Pallava period around Manimangalam.  This Shiva Lingam was unearthed from a field during cultivation.

Oru kala pooja is conducted, and no other special poojas are conducted.

HOW TO REACH
This Shiva Lingam is installed in a private property, and it is between the Sri Kailasanathar temple and the Sri Dharmeeswarar Temple.
Manimangalam is 5 km from Padappai, 11 km from Tambaram, 33 km from Chengalpattu, and 44 km from Kanchipuram.
The nearest Railway Station is Tambaram.
