visit to the Sri Vaiyaaleeswarar Temple at Manimangalam was part of the Mahashivaratri
2026 darshan of Shiva Temples in and around Kanchipuram, on 15 February 2026.

The
Shiva Lingam was kept open sky under a neem tree. A new shed was constructed, and Shiva Lingam was installed.

It
is said that this Shiva Lingam belongs to one of the 8 Shiva temples built
during the Pallava period around Manimangalam. This Shiva Lingam was unearthed from a field during cultivation.
