Pallava Ayyanar / பல்லவ அய்யனார், பேரனக்காவூர் / Peranakvur / Peranakkavur, Kanchipuram District, Tamil Nadu.

The visit to this Pallava Ayyanar at Peranakavur of Uthiramerur Taluk in Kanchipuram District, was a part of the Heritage Visit to Salavakkam, Porpandal, and Peranakkavur, Shiva Temples, Pallava period Inscriptions and Heritage Sites on one of the Pooja holidays, ie 15th October 2021. Thanks to Raj Panneerselvam, Udhayaraja Rajasekaran from Thiruvannamalai, and Kesavan for their help and for traveling along with me on this Heritage Visit.

The Ayyanar bas-relief is carved on a boulder on the banks of a Tank. The Ayyanar is sitting in Rajaleelasana, while the left hand is resting on the seat, and the right hand is hanging on the right Knee. The head is slanted towards his right. A big mustache is shown on his face. He is wearing ornaments on the ears, around the neck, and hands. He also wearing Yagnopaveetha and a half dress below his hip.

It was told by the Villagers that initially only the head was visible a few years before and the stone is growing.
