The original Moolavar is in the sanctum. Vinayagar, Murugan Stucco Dwarapalakas are at the entrance of ardha mandapam. In Koshtam Vinayagar, Dakshinamurthy, Maha Vishnu, Brahma and Durgai.

ARCHITECTURE
The Temple consists of sanctum sanctorum, Ardha mandapam and mukha mandapam. An eka tala vesara vimanam is on the sanctum sanctorum. This present temple with bricks was built on old Adhishtanam in recent years. Stucco images of Dakshinamurthy, Maha Vishnu, and Brahma are on the Greeva koshtam.

Apart from the main sanctum, all the Parivara shrines are also reconstructed.

HISTORY AND INSCRIPTIONS
It is believed that the temple belongs to the 16th to 17th Century, Vijayanagara Nayakas period. Inscriptions are also found on the adhistanam.

A Pallava King Nrupatungavarman’s inscription (SII Vol 12. 77 ) on a boulder near the temple  records the endowment of food offerings to the God of the temple, for which land was gifted. The inscription didn’t mention this temple’s Lord's Name. If it mentioned Lord Shiva of this temple, then this temple might belong to the 9th Century.  The original inscription reads as …
  1. ஸ்வத்திஸ்ரீ (II )
  2. கொவிசைய
  3. நிருபதொங்கபொ…
  4. த்த தேவற்கு யா
  5. ண்டு இரு(பத்து ) நால்..
  6. காவ(து)……… க்காய்
  7. புரமு……… ….. க(செ)…

  12. ……………………………………… வ்வூர்

A Shiva Linga baanam is found installed in front of a Perumal Temple. Since the above inscription didn't mention God's name, there may be another Shiva Temple and the inscription may belong to that temple.

A Sanyasi kal / Enthira kal is found in the same Village.
