LEGENDS
It was told that the old Shiva Linga and Ambal are replaced by new one, since they were found damaged. Lord Shiva asked the authorities in their dream, if any thing happened to a member of the family, whether they will threw them out. So, even though the original Shiva Linga and Ambal are damaged, they were installed and worshiped.
