ARCHITECTURE
The Temple consists of sanctum sanctorum, antarala, ardha mandapam, and mukha mandapam. The adhistanam is of simple pada bandha adhistanam with jagathy and threepatta kumudam. The temple was constructed with bricks from adhistana to sigaram. An eka thala vesara Vimanam is over the sanctum sanctorum.

The mukha mandapam pillars have crude bas-reliefs of Anjaneyar and flower motifs, and the ceiling has the bas-relief of fishes and a Snake and sun/moon representing the Solar and lunar eclipse.

HISTORY AND INSCRIPTIONS
There are inscriptions found in this temple to prove its antiquity. Going by the iconography of Chandikeswarar, Bhairavar, and Sri Valli Devasena Subramaniar, the temple may belong to the 12th to 13th Century Chozha Period. The front / mukha mandapa may belong to the 15th to 16th Century.

The Archagar pointed to the fish bas-reliefs and said they belonged to the Pandya period. Behaved rudely and was not in a receptive mood. He also didn’t allow me to take photographs of the temple view. During a conversation, the priest said that the temple is being managed by a big person, and he is getting a salary of Rs 7000 per month through the High Court, (.....? ), what the litigation behind this is not known. It seems that this temple is being treated as private property.
