HISTORY AND INSCRIPTIONS
The temple is believed to be 150 to 200 years old and constructed with stone from Adhistanam to prastaram. Reconstructed by the Sadhu Chetty Mahajana kula people in 1944.  During the Second World War, in 1943, due to the bombing of Madras City by the Japanese bomber flights, Sadhu Chetty Mahajana Kula people moved to other places like Tirupati, Vellore, Kanchipuram, etc. It was said that Srinivasa Perumal came in the dreams of many Sadhu Chetty Mahajana people and said that the temple was once witnessed with celebrations and bhajans but is now left in bad shape. Later, slowly, Sadhu Chetty and a few other people returned and restored the temple to its original glory in 1944.

A Telugu inscription is inscribed on the wall behind the Dwarapalakas on 07th February 1946 ( 7-2-46 ).  This may probably be the installation of Dwarapalakas and the donors.

The Rajagopuram foundation stone was laid on 21st April 2002, and after completion, Maha Samprokshanam was performed on 21st March 2005. The required fund was raised through the public.

Maha Samprokshanam of this temple was also conducted in the years 1944, 1997, 2005, and 2013.
