The
Visit to this Ayyanar idol at Thiruvellaikulam, near Sirkazhi was a part of
Shiva and Maha Vishnu Temples around Sirkazhi Visit on 1st & 2nd
July 2023. This
Ayyanar is in the midst of field, on the opposite side of Sri Annan Perumal
temple, one of the 108 Divya deasam.
This Ayyanar idol is half buried in the
ground up to the chest level. He is holding a Chendu / flower in the right hand
and do not know what is in the left
hand. He is wearing ornaments on the neck and yagnopaveetha. Padra kundalas are
in the ears and the Jada mudi with a band is shown beautifully. There is a beautiful smile on his face.
Originally
the Ayyanar was in a brick temple and the base brick can be seen around the
Ayyanar.
