This
visit to this temple was a part of the “Shiva, Vishnu and Amman Temples Visit” in
Pudupet, Chennai, on 27th April 2025.
The presiding Deity: Sri Lakshmi Durgai
Some
of the salient features of this temple are….
The
temple faces south, with a stucco image of Durga with 16 hands, holding various
weapons. An image of Durgai is in front of the Stucco image. Durgai is in a
standing posture with abhaya varada hastam.
In
the praharam, Vinayagar, Bairavar, Veera Muneeswarar, Kali, etc.
ARCHITECTURE
There
is no formal structure for this Lakshmi Durgai. The main deity and the parivara
deities are under a meta-color sheet mandapam.

AND INSCRIPTIONS
It
was said that this temple is about 30 years old, and all the idols are open to the sky before the erection of the mandapam/ shed.

Apart
from regular poojas, special poojas are conducted on Fridays, Aadi Months, etc.
