72/ 18. SRI KADAIMUDINATHAR TEMPLE / MAHADEVAR TEMPLE / SEMMALAI NATHAR TEMPLE.  KILUER (கிளுர்) - THIRUKADAIMUDI.


Now this place is being called Keelaiyur (Thirukadaimudi). This is the 72nd Thevara Paadal Petra Shiva Sthalam and the 18th sthalam on the north side of the river Kaveri in Chozha Nadu. Thirugnanasambandar has sung hymns in praise of the Lord Shiva of this temple.

Moolavar    : Sri Kadaimudinathar, Sri Anthi Samraksneeswarar.
Consort      : Sri Abirami.

Some of the important features of this temple are as follows.
The temple faces east with balipeedam and Rishabam. A Vesara Vimana is over the sanctum.  Moolavar is a little taller, Made of Navapashanam (as per Gurukkal) with 16 faces /Dharalingam. In Koshtam Vinayagar, Dakshinamurthy, Lingothbavar, Brahma, and Durgai.

In praharam Vinayagar, Subramaniyar, Bhairavar, and Moovar. The Lord Shiva of this temple was worshiped by Kanva Maharishi.

The temple is on the bus route from Mayiladuthurai to Poompuhar, after Chatram stops at a place called Kiluer.

159/42. SRI SWARNAPUREESWARAR TEMPLE. 
SEMBANARKOIL -  THIRUCHEMPONPALLI.


Now this place is called Sembanarkoil. This is the 159th Devaram Paadal Petra Shiva Sthalam and 42nd sthalam on the south side of the river Kaveri in Chozha Nadu. Thirugnanasambandar and Appar have sung hymns in praise of Lord Shiva of this temple.


Moolavar    : Sri Swarnapuriswarar, Sri Devapriyar,
    Sri Sornalakshmeesar,  Sri Chemponpalliyar.
Consort      : Sri Maruvar Kuzhali, Sri Pushpazhaki,
    Sri Thaakshiyayini, Sri Suguntha Kunthalambigai,
    Sri Suguntha vananayagi.

Some of the important features of this temple are as follows.
This is one of the Mada temples constructed by  Ko Chenkat Chozhan. The temple faces east with an entrance arch. There is no Dwajasthambam and Rajagopuram. Balipeedam and Rishabam are in front. The sanctum sanctorum consists of the sanctum antarala and the ardha mandapam. An eka thala vesara Vimana is over the sanctum. The avudayar is of a round shape and carved like a lotus. It was learned that Vishnu worshiped Lord Shiva of this temple. In Koshtam, Indira Ganapathy, Dakshinamurthy, Arthanareeswarar, and Durgai.

In praharam, Vanadurgai, Viswanathar, Srinivasa Perumal, Sibi Kaatchinathar with maan and mazhu, Balasubramaniar, Gajalakshmi, Jyeshta Devi, Veerabhadra, Suryan, and Bhairavar. Ambal is in a separate sannadhi with Saptakanniyars.

Urchavars Somaskandar, Natarajar, Chandrasekar, and Pichadanar are very old.

Vashister, Brahman, Indiran, and Kuberan worshiped the Lord Shiva of this temple. Lord blessed Dhaakshiyayini and incarnated Veerabhadra. Indiran got the Vajrayudham after worshiping lord Shiva of this temple.

Bas relief of King worshiping Lord Shiva and his both sides are monk and minister.

The town bus from Mayiladuthurai passes through this place, and the distance is about 10 km from Mayiladuthurai.

163/46.  SRI THANTHONDREESWARAR TEMPLE.  
AKKUR.


This is the 163rd Devaram Paadal Petra Shiva Sthalam and 46th Sthalam on the south side of the river Kaveri in Chozha Nadu. Thirugnanasambandar and Appar have sung hymns in praise of Lord Shiva of this temple.

Moolavar    : Sri Thanthondreeswarar, Sri Suyabu Nathar
Consort      : Sri Kadakanethri, Sri Vaalnedunganni

Some of the important features of this temple are as follows.
This is one of the mada koil built by Ko Chengat Chozhan. The temple is facing west with a 3-tier Rajagopuram. Balipeedam and Rishabam are in front.  Moolavar is Swayambhu, and there is a crack on the top from here only Shiva came out and went to Thirukadaiyur to kick the Kaalan with his leg. In Koshtam, Vinayagar, Dakshinamurthy, Lingothbavar, Brahma, Durgai.

In the praharam, Vinayagar, Sri Murugan (Sannadhi is like a chariot), Saraswathy, Sundarar with his wives, Sangiliyar, and Paravai Nachiyar. Paana Lingam,  Viswanathar, Visalakshi, Naalvar, and Lakshmi. A Separate Sannadhi for ‘Aayirathil Oruvar” special Moorthy with vimanam. (When the King gave food to Anthanars, Lord Shiva also participated as the 1000th person).

Ambal temple faces west on the right side of the moolavar and standing posture.

LEGENDS
Sirappuli Nayanar was born in this place. This is one of the sthalams in which Lord Shiva has given Kalyana darshan to  Agasthiyar.

Moolavar is Swayambhu, and there is a crack on the top from here only Shiva came out and went to Thirukadaiyur to kick the Kaalan with his leg.

70/16. SRI VAIDYANATHAR TEMPLE / VAITHEESWARAN TEMPLE.
VAITHEESWARAN KOIL -  PULLIRUKKUVELUR.  


Now this place is called Vaitheeswaran Koil. This is the 70th Devaram Paadal Petra Shiva Sthalam and the 16th sthalam on the north side of the river Kaveri in Chozha Nadu. Thirugnanasambandar has sung hymns in praise of lord Shiva of this temple.

Consort      : Sri Thaiyal Nayagi.

Some of the important features of this temple are as follows….
The temple faces east with a 5-tier Rajagopuram with a Temple tank. Dwajasthambam, balipeedam, and Rishabam are in front of the sanctum sanctorum. In the sanctum, the Moolavar is a little small.  Ambal is in a separate sannadhi facing east.

In the praharam, Ramar, Jadayu, Subramaniyar, Suryan, and Angarakan worshiped Shiva Lingas.

ARCHITECTURE
The sanctum sanctorum consists of the Sanctum, antarala, artha mandapam, and a maha mandapam. 

LEGENDS
The Lord of this temple was worshiped by Pul (Jadayu), Irukku (Rig Veda), Vel Murugan, and Oor (Suryan). It is believed that Bhairavar, Veerabhadra, Karpaga Vinayagar, and Kaali guard this place from four sides.

It is believed that Lord Shiva will cure the diseases caused due to Manthiram, Thanthiram, Black magic, etc.

Can come from Kumbakonam via Mayiladuthurai.

74/20. SRI SIVALOKANATHAR TEMPLE /SIVALOGANATHAR TEMPLE. THIRUPPUNGUR.


This is the 74th Devaram Paadal Petra Shiva Sthalam and the 20th sthalam on the north side of the river Kaveri in Chozha Nadu. Moovar has sung hymns in praise of Lord Shiva of this temple.

Moolavar    : Sri Shivaloga Nathar
Consort      : Sri Chokka Nayagi, Sri Soundara Nayagi.

Some of the important features of this temple are…..
The temple faces east with a 5-tier Rajagopuram. Balipeedam and Dwajasthambam are in front of the mukha mandapam. The Mukha mandapam has a Stucco image arch. Rishabam is in the mandapam. Moolavar is a little short of swayambhu Prithivi, and hence, only Punugu is applied, and no abhishekam is done. In koshtam, Narthana Vinayagar, Pitchadanar, Agasthiyar, Dakshinamurthy, Lingothbavar, Brahma, Durgai, Arthanareeswarar, and Kshethrabalakar.

In praharam Vinayagar, Naalvar, Subramaniyar, Suryan, Kalikamar, Sundara Vinayagar, Gajalakshmi, Bhairavar, Navagrahas, Chandran. In Natarajar Saba, Devar is playing a Panchamuga Vaadhyam sila roopam to be watched.

The right side dwarapalaka’s expression on his face to move the Nandhi to the side for Thirunalaipovar’s darshan, and Rishabam moved to the side. Rishabam/ Idabam is a little big. The special is that the tongue is not protruding outside to be watched.

LEGENDS
Kalikamar, one of the 63 Nayanmar, Yayerkon, and Sundarar. Brahma, Indran, Agasthiyar, Chandran, Suryan, Rajendran, Agni, Patanjali, Vyaghrapada, Saptakanniyar, and Virarmindanayanar worshiped Lord Shiva of this temple.

On the bus route from Vaitheeswaran Koil to Thiruppanandal, get down after 3 km, and the temple is 1 km away from the main road.

Rishabam is a little bit away from the center, to the right side, and the tongue is inside, not outside like in any other temple. Kodimaram, in which Rishabam gives access to Lord Shiva's darshan to Thirunalai Povar.
