...
a continuation post to Devipattinam Sri Thilakeswarar Temple )
10th January 2016.
After darshan of Sri Maragatha Natarajar at
Uthirakosamangai, we returned to Ramanathapuram, fearing a crowd for Abhishekam.
So I thought of attending Pradosham and Arudra abhishekam in any of the Shiva
temples at Ramanathapuram. The above temple is near the palace and under the
control of Ramanathapuram Samasthanam.
Moolavar : Sri Chokkanathar
Consort : Sri Meenakshi
Some of the important details are as follows.....
The temple faces east with an entrance arch.
Dwajasthambam, balipeedam, and Rishabam/Idabam are in the mandapam.
In the inner prakaram sannadhi for Sekkizhar, Namasivaya Yatheskar, Adhikara Nandhi, Suryan, Ganapathi, Urchavars, Gajalakshmi, Saraswathy, Sri Meenakshi, Bhairavar, and Chandran. Sethupathi King's stucco images are there on the mandapa pillars and above the entrance too, facing Lord Shiva.
