Sri Kasi Viswanathar Temple / ஸ்ரீ காசி விஸ்வநாதர் கோவில், துடுப்பதி / Thudupathi near Perundurai, Erode District, Tamil Nadu.

Thought of visiting this temple every time I cross this place on the way to my Native Village Pappavalasu from Erode/ Perundurai. Last Monday 15th May 2018. Visited my Village and got down at Thudupathi on the way to Erode to catch the Yercaud Express.

Consort      : Sri Kasi Visalakshi.

Some of the important details are….
The temple faces east with balipeedam and Nandhi without any entrance arch or a Rajagopuram. The temple consists of Sanctum Sanctorum, antarala, and Ardha Mandapam. In Koshtam Dakshinamurthy, Brahma, and Durgai all are later additions. Ambal is facing east in a separate temple like sannidhi.

In the outer  prakaram sannadhi for Vinayagar, Sri Subramaniar Chandran Suryan, Chandikeswarar. Navagrahas, Saneeswarar and Bairavar.

HISTORY AND INSCRIPTIONS
It was said that the temple was built about 500 years before without any koshtam and present deities were added at a later stage. This Shiva temple and Sri KariVaradharaja Perumal are built in common premises. The Mangalore tiled roof vahana mandapam is in a dilapidated condition. The temple is being maintained by the section of the Kongu Kuruppa Nadu Vellalar Community.

The temple will be kept open between 07.00 hrs to 10.00 hrs and 17.00 hrs to 19.30 hrs.
