Jyeshta Devi / Thavvai at an Amman Temple, Kaala Medu, V P Puthur, Thathanaikenpatti, Near Palani, Dindigul District, Tamil Nadu.

The visit to these Hero stones at an Amman Temple, V P Puthur Thathanaikenpatti near Palani in Dindigul District was a part of the Visit to Rock arts in Natural caves in Dindigul District near Palani on 3rd July 2024. Thanks to Thenkongu Sathasivam, who took us (Mrs. Sakthi Prakash and Mr. Srinivasan) to this Amman temple.

This Jyeshta Devi is installed on Amman Temple premises facing East. Jyeshta Devi is in a sitting posture on a platform, and her legs are hanging. The right hand is ahvana hastam ( not sure but not the abhaya hastam), and the left hand is on her thigh. She wears ornaments around her neck and ears. A crow flag is shown on her left. Both Manthan and Manthi are also shown on both sides.
